How to Make Reusable Hand Warmers

Steps.

1. Draw a heart design on your paper. This will guide the design you put on your fabric.

2. Use the paper as a stencil to draw the heart on your fabric. Make four of them.

3. Cut four hearts from your fabric.

4. Sew two of the hearts together around the edges. Leave a small gap towards the end. Do the same with the other two hearts.

5. Pour uncooked rice into the open part of the heart. A funnel can make this step easier.

Do not overfill - you want to leave enough room to close the last edge.

6. Add one or two drops of essential oils if desired. Oils such as lavender or jasmine smell good when the hand warmers are heated.

7. Sew up the hearts completely.

8. Use your hand warmers. For use, heat the hand warmer in the microwave for 30 seconds. It will stay warm for at least 30 minutes.

9. Put one in each coat pocket on each cold day and keep your fingers warm!

Tips.

These little hand warmers make great gifts. Make a set of two and tie them together with ribbon; add a gift tag with instructions on how to use them.
